FAQ

What is the number one quality I want in my personal injury attorney?

You want an attorney who possesses killer instinct. You want your attorney to not just be aggressive and decisive but also relentless and resilient. Many things can be taught, learned or picked up through experience but killer instinct is not one of them. An attorney either has it or they don’t.

Should The Grades My Attorney Got In Law School Matter?

Law schools neither teach nor test killer instinct, so the grades your attorney got in law school don’t matter, because in the real world, insurance companies don’t want to give you money even if you deserve it. Favorable outcomes can only be persuaded out of the insurance companies through effective aggression. Thus, the attorneys who possess killer instinct are superior to the attorneys that don’t in terms of ability to succeed. They will assert themselves forcefully to fight for your case, make decisions confidently, come up with aggressive strategies and quickly brush off opposition and setbacks.

Are Awards From Organizations An Important Factor To Consider When Searching For An Attorney?

No. It shouldn’t be a factor in your consideration one way or the other. Awards from organizations are props that organizations routinely offer to sell to active members of the bar.

The awards that matter are the type of awards that cannot be bought but only earned through ability. Persuading the Rhode Island Supreme Court to overturn a Superior Court Judge, persuading a jury to return an award in your client’s favor, and turning difficult cases (not ready made cases) into winners separate the all-in attorneys from the attorneys that just say they are all-in but are quick to refer out a case when the going gets tough.

Is Success At Trial And In The Rhode Island Supreme Court An Important Factor To Consider When Searching For A Personal Injury Attorney?

Absolutely. A personal injury attorney does not even end up in Trial and especially not the Supreme Court unless they had an unyielding drive to succeed. Also, Insurance companies look at the end game. If you are represented by an attorney that hasn’t built up a formidable body of work inside courtrooms, insurance companies will not take your claim seriously and will instead rely upon your attorney to talk you into accepting a low-ball offer.

Insurance companies love it when they find out that you are represented by an attorney who lacks killer instinct. That means the case will usually settle out at the second offer. Clients of Hardcore Law never have to worry about receiving a letter from their attorney trying to talk them into accepting a low-ball offer. I’ll never sell out your interests to the insurance company.

Are Dollar Amount Results An Important Factor To Consider When Searching For An Attorney?

If it is just a raw number, no. You would first need to know how much the individual incurred in medical damages. For example, a million-dollar settlement may sound like a great result, but if the individual had 700,000 in medical damages, a million-dollar settlement is a poor result.

What Is A Good Litmus Test For Determining Whether An Attorney Is A Real Fighter?

The easiest litmus test is to go to this public portal:

https://publicportal.courts.ri.gov/PublicPortal/Home/Dashboard/29

Enter the Attorney’s name last name first. (i.e. Doe, John)

After you click submit, scroll down for a list of that Attorney’s active and closed cases. Then look to the left at the case number. The case numbers begin with either PC (Providence County), NP (Newport County), KC (Kent County) or WC (Washington County).

But then some case numbers begin with SU. SU means the Rhode Island Supreme Court. If the attorney you are looking up has at least 3-5 cases beginning with SU in the case number, you can be rest assured and sleep well at night that they are a legitimate fighter.

IF YOU HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT OR OTHERWISE INJURED BY THE STUPID ACTION (S) OF SOME PERSON, SOME GROUP OR SOME BUSINESS, PLEASE PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL 1-800-3-INJURY OR 401-662-5042. CASE EVALUATIONS ARE FREE AND GIVE YOU A REALISTIC ASSESMENT OF YOUR INJURY CLAIM. INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL NOT TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY UNLESS THEY KNOW THAT YOU ARE BACKED BY AN ATTORNEY THAT CAN WHIP THEM AT TRIAL.

PRIOR TO STARTING HARDCORE LAW, I WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN INJURY VICTIMS OBTAINING AT LEAST A COUPLE MILLION DOLLARS AND THAT WAS WITHIN A SHORT SPAN OF TIME. MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE INSURANCE COMPANIES DUMPED A LOT OF MONEY INTO DEFENDING THESE CASES WHICH SHOWS THAT THESE RESULTS WERE NO EASY WALK IN THE PARK. I ALSO TOOK ON NUMEROUS DIFFICULT CASES INVOLVING SMALLER DAMAGES AND SINGLEHANDEDLY TURNED THEM INTO WINNERS, OBTAINING THE MAXIMUM AMOUNTS THROUGH MAXIMUM PRESSURE.
