Favorable outcomes can only be persuaded out of the insurance companies through effective aggression. Thus, the attorneys who possess killer instinct are superior to the attorneys that don’t in terms of ability to succeed. They will assert themselves forcefully to fight for your case, make decisions confidently, come up with aggressive strategies and quickly brush off opposition and setbacks.

No. It shouldn’t be a factor in your consideration one way or the other. Awards from organizations are props that organizations routinely offer to sell to active members of the bar.

The awards that matter are the type of awards that cannot be bought but only earned through ability. Persuading the Rhode Island Supreme Court to overturn a Superior Court Judge, persuading a jury to return an award in your client’s favor, and turning difficult cases (not ready made cases) into winners separate the all-in attorneys from the attorneys that just say they are all-in but are quick to refer out a case when the going gets tough.

Absolutely. A personal injury attorney does not even end up in Trial and especially not the Supreme Court unless they had an unyielding drive to succeed. Also, Insurance companies look at the end game. If you are represented by an attorney that hasn’t built up a formidable body of work inside courtrooms, insurance companies will not take your claim seriously and will instead rely upon your attorney to talk you into accepting a low-ball offer.

Insurance companies love it when they find out that you are represented by an attorney who lacks killer instinct. That means the case will usually settle out at the second offer. If it is just a raw number, no. You would first need to know how much the individual incurred in medical damages. For example, a million-dollar settlement may sound like a great result, but if the individual had 700,000 in medical damages, a million-dollar settlement is a poor result.

Enter the Attorney’s name last name first. (i.e. Doe, John)

After you click submit, scroll down for a list of that Attorney’s active and closed cases. Then look to the left at the case number. The case numbers begin with either PC (Providence County), NP (Newport County), KC (Kent County) or WC (Washington County).

But then some case numbers begin with SU. SU means the Rhode Island Supreme Court. If the attorney you are looking up has at least 3-5 cases beginning with SU in the case number, you can be rest assured and sleep well at night that they are a legitimate fighter.
