The awards that matter are the type of awards that cannot be bought but only earned through ability. Persuading the Rhode Island Supreme Court to overturn a Superior Court Judge, persuading a jury to return an award in your client’s favor, and turning difficult cases (not ready made cases) into winners separate the all-in attorneys from the attorneys that just say they are all-in but are quick to refer out a case when the going gets tough.
Are Dollar Amount Results An Important Factor To Consider When Searching For An Attorney?
If it is just a raw number, no. You would first need to know how much the individual incurred in medical damages. For example, a million-dollar settlement may sound like a great result, but if the individual had 700,000 in medical damages, a million-dollar settlement is a poor result.
What Is A Good Litmus Test For Determining Whether An Attorney Is A Real Fighter?
The easiest litmus test is to go to this public portal:

Enter the Attorney’s name last name first. (i.e. Doe, John)
After you click submit, scroll down for a list of that Attorney’s active and closed cases. Then look to the left at the case number. The case numbers begin with either PC (Providence County), NP (Newport County), KC (Kent County) or WC (Washington County).
But then some case numbers begin with SU. SU means the Rhode Island Supreme Court. If the attorney you are looking up has at least 3-5 cases beginning with SU in the case number, you can be rest assured and sleep well at night that they are a legitimate fighter.
